Elsa Peretti Bone Collection for Tiffany & Co.

I had my eye on the gold bone cuff until I realized it’s pushing $10,000. I’ll have to settle for more bone tattoos or a generous friend bumping their head and deciding to buy me unbelievably priced expensive jewelry.

Museum of Small Things is a two-person design team that creates jewelry inspired by museum aesthetic and documentation.  I’m in love with their new packaging — laser-cut wooden stands to store and display the jewelry pieces — perfect for any tiny museum.  Their collection is expertly curated, down to the museum-like descriptions and details given for each piece of jewelry created. Of course I’m a sucker for anything anatomy-related, so what’s not to love? The best part is: their jewelry is for sale, and not at museum prices :)

Check out their blog for a peek into their personal inspirations.

Lasserre’s drawings and sculptures explore the unexpected potential of the everyday and its associated structures of authority, class, and value. Elements of nostalgia, allegory, humor, and the macabre are incorporated into works that induce strangeness in the familiar, and provoke uncertainty in the expected.
